picking up rubbish at sembawang beach
Our teachers brought 1P4 and 1P3 to sembawang beach to pick up litter. At first,I thought that this would be an easy job but when we reached there,I couldn't believe my eyes! There was litter everywhere,on grasses,in drains,on the beach and there was even a car tire!To make the event more exciting, our seniors made us compete against the other class to see which class could pick up the most litter. We were asked by our form teachers to split into twos so that it would be easier.I teamed up with a friend and started to pick up litter. We went to the beach first to pick up litter. After scanning the whole beach,we our trash bag was already one quater full. Then we went to the drain to continue to pick up litter. The drain had the most litter in it,it was horrifying to see the number of rubbish people have littered.Even though we lost the competition,we still had fun!!

It was very fun including the part when Sam just walked into the water like nothing has happened.

Yes i do agree that the beaches was quite dity,
ReplyDeletealmost 50% of the beachs rubbish was plastic! We all should know that a piece of plastic bag may taker up to 40 to 50 yrs to break down....
I am glad that now leaders are aware of their mistakes....
I didn't know there is a competition! And I did not even looked into the drain. I only looked on the sand. I thing that the litter picking activity is a very meaningful activity as it can help us realise that there are many places which are dirty and requires the cleaner to do lots of work. This can help to remind us that we should not dirty any public places.
