life metaphor

Life is like an elevator. It has ups and downs, but no matter what we still have to get up and start again just like how the elevator goes from first floor to the top. However, sometimes the elevator would break down and would take a long time to get repaired but in the end, it still starts working again. We have to be strong and not give up, just like the elevator.

limerick poem

There was a man from Peru
who needed to go to the loo
and so he went
and pulled down his pants
and said "Oh I need to poo!"

poem on primary school days

With tears I stepped
in the school,
my one and only primary school.
I had few friends at first in that school,
my one and only primary school.

As weeks went by,
new friends soon came by.
I had lots of fun
and laughed and smiled until I had the runs.

However when the exams arrived
all the fun left.
The friendly and kind faces of the teachers
metamorphosed into serious and stern faces.

Oh how time flies
when your having happy times.
The final year exams soon
drew close and workload soon increased.

When the results came out,
there were tears of joy and sadness.
For me,
it was tears of joy.

How I missed my friends
the ones which I shared tears and joys with.
How I missed that school,
my one and only primary school.

sound poem

I heard the owls hooting in the dark.
I heard the sheep bleating beyond the hill.
I heard the wolves howling in the dark dark night.
I heard the sparrows chirping on the tree.
I heard the dogs growling at my neighbor.
I heard the horses neighing in the stable.
I heard the bulls bellowing on the field.
I heard the bees buzzing around their bee hive.
I heard the frogs croaking on a lily.
I heard the mice squeaking in their hole.
I heard the roosters crowing at dawn.
I heard the turkeys clucking at the farm.
I heard the pigeons homing around my house.
I heard the ducks quacking in the pond.
I heard the pigs oinking in the mud.
I heard the cats screeching at my dog.

Reflections

During this year in school during Language Arts lessons, the two things that I find most valuable were the lessons on summary writing and poetry.

Before my LA teacher taught us about summary writing, I did not know much about it. I always thought that it was just a few lines of words at the back of a book. Until my LA teacher taught about it, I started to have a better understanding of it. When my LA teacher first talked about summary writing, I did not really care about it as I thought that it would be easy to write a summary. However, when we started to do the exercises that my LA teacher gave us, my mind went blank. What is this thing about? Why must there be so many points? How to para-phrase this? These were the things that I thought during then.

I once had a few lessons on poetry in primary school, then I thought that it was very complex. When my LA teacher started teaching us poetry, I still thought that it was very complex. But as my LA lessons progressed, most of the things soon came together and I started to understand poetry more.
